Full Mouth Reconstruction in Brooklyn, NY

A coordinated plan that rebuilds all or most teeth in both jaws.

What Is Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Full mouth reconstruction is a comprehensive treatment approach that addresses damage, decay, wear, and functional issues across the entire mouth. It is designed for patients whose dental health has deteriorated to the point where individual treatments alone cannot restore proper function and aesthetics. Rather than treating teeth in isolation, full mouth reconstruction takes a coordinated, whole-mouth perspective, combining multiple restorative and cosmetic procedures into a unified plan that rebuilds the smile from the ground up.

Who Full Mouth Reconstruction Is For

Reconstruction is considered when problems affect most of the teeth and fixing them one at a time would not hold. The aim is a healthy, stable bite first, and a good-looking smile as the result of that.

  • Many teeth that are broken, heavily filled or failing
  • Teeth worn short by grinding or acid erosion
  • Several missing teeth and a bite that has collapsed or shifted
  • Jaw pain or headaches linked to the bite
  • Old dental work across the mouth that is reaching the end of its life

Full Mouth Reconstruction at Bensonhurst Dental Care

At Bensonhurst Dental Care, full mouth reconstruction is led by Dr. Marina Rubinshtein, whose extensive experience in both restorative and cosmetic dentistry gives her the versatility to manage even the most complex cases. Treatment may include a combination of dental crowns, ceramic inlays and onlays, porcelain veneers, bridges, and other restorative procedures, all planned and sequenced to work together. When implant-based restorations are part of the plan, Dr. Marina collaborates with Dr. Geoffrey Rubinshtein to ensure seamless integration of implant-supported restorations into the overall treatment.

What to Expect, Step by Step

The process begins with a thorough diagnostic evaluation, including detailed imaging, bite analysis, and an in-depth discussion of the patient’s goals. Dr. Marina develops a phased treatment plan that prioritizes structural stability first, then addresses aesthetics and fine-tuning. Each phase builds on the one before it, and the patient is involved in decision-making throughout. The timeline for full mouth reconstruction varies depending on the scope of treatment, but every case is paced to ensure comfort, precision, and lasting results.

  1. Comprehensive exam. X-rays, photos, gum measurements and bite records are taken.
  2. Treatment plan. We present the options, sequence, timeline and costs before anything begins.
  3. Foundation phase. Gum disease, decay and infection are treated first.
  4. Trial phase. Temporary restorations test the new bite and appearance.
  5. Final restorations. Crowns, bridges, implants or veneers are placed, usually one section at a time.
  6. Protection. A nightguard and a maintenance schedule protect the result.

A Structured Path, Even for Complex Cases

Patients who pursue full mouth reconstruction often arrive with years of accumulated dental issues, from broken and worn teeth to failing restorations and bite dysfunction. Many have avoided dental care due to anxiety, cost, or complexity. Dr. Marina approaches each of these patients with patience and a clear, structured plan that makes even the most extensive treatment feel manageable. The result is a fully restored mouth that functions properly, looks natural, and gives patients the confidence to smile without hesitation. For patients whose primary concern is bite-related dysfunction, occlusal rehabilitation may be a focused component of or alternative to a full reconstruction.

Cost and Insurance

The fee for restorative treatment depends on how much of the tooth needs rebuilding and on the material used. You receive a written estimate before treatment starts.

What affects the cost

  • The size and position of the tooth being restored
  • The material chosen, such as composite, ceramic or zirconia
  • Supporting procedures such as a core buildup, post or root canal
  • Laboratory fees for custom restorations

Most dental plans contribute to restorative care, often at different rates for fillings, crowns and bridges. Our team can check your benefits and explain your options before treatment begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a candidate for full mouth reconstruction?

Patients with extensive decay across multiple teeth, severely worn dentition, numerous failing restorations, missing teeth, bite dysfunction, or a combination of these issues are candidates. Full mouth reconstruction is also appropriate for patients who have experienced dental trauma or long-term neglect and need comprehensive rehabilitation.

How long does full mouth reconstruction take?

The timeline depends on the complexity of the case and the procedures involved. Some reconstructions are completed in a matter of months, while more extensive cases may unfold over a year or more. Dr. Marina provides a clear, phased timeline during the planning process.

Is full mouth reconstruction painful?

Each procedure within the reconstruction is performed with appropriate anesthesia and comfort measures. Because treatment is phased, patients are never overwhelmed by a single appointment. Most patients find the process much more manageable than they expected.

Will my new teeth look natural?

Absolutely. Dr. Marina’s background in cosmetic dentistry ensures that every restoration is designed with aesthetics in mind. The materials, shading, and contouring are all selected to create a cohesive, natural-looking result that complements the patient’s facial features.

How do I maintain my results after reconstruction?

Good oral hygiene, regular professional cleanings, and consistent dental visits are essential. Patients who grind their teeth will be fitted with a nightguard to protect their restorations. With proper care, the results of a full mouth reconstruction can last for many years.

The entire staff is outstanding, including the front desk. They never overbook, and no one has to wait. Professional environment enables them to provide patients with the best dental techniques while exercising the highest level of patient service. As a male, I never focused on aesthetics. It wasn’t until the treatment was completed, and people commented on my appearance, when I realized what a difference a clean smile can make. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this practice if you have any dental problems, as they are excellent practice for complicated dental issues.

I visited the office for a cleaning and zoom whitening. Very easy to find parking very clean office and everyone there is so friendly. I only waited for 10 minute before the hygienist Valerie came and got me from the waiting room. She did a great job cleaning my teeth. I have had very bad experience before because sometimes hygienist are very rough but Valerie did a great job was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. After my cleaning she set me up for zoom whitening treatment. She provided me with headphone a pillow and TV to entertain myself during the process. I was so happy with the results of the teeth whitening as well. After I was done Dr. Marina also came and introduced herself, which was very nice. I was felt very comfortable at this office and would recommend it to everyone. The office is nice the service is great and compared to other dental office I checked out there pricing was the most reasonable.

Dr. Marina and Dr. Alex first became our family dentists 35 years ago. Dr. Marina had to restore all my teeth, replacing metal crowns and lead filings back then. This time it was implants and zirconium crowns. And she did an absolutely amazing job again! Her attention to details, superb professional skills and strive to perfection makes her the best doctor I've ever seen. Each person in the staff was very professional, courteous and friendly, from the office coordinator Kevin, to receptionist Julia, dental assistants Julia and Anya. Because the round trip to the office for me now was six hours, they accommodated my schedule to cut the number of visits to the minimum. The best dental office you can find, thank you so much!

Bensonhurst Dental has been my go to general dental and cosmetic dental doctors since high school. You're not going to find anything like this place almost anywhere in NY. Not only do that have a high tech lab upstairs to custom-make on-site dental cosmetics, which they work with hand in hand to ensure perfect size color and fitness (don't overlook this!), but the team consists of a family of specialists. From Danny who specializes in full mouth restorations and custom veneers, to his father Alex who is an oral surgeon expert as far as root canals and the latest in laser dentistry with expensive modern high tech on-site equipment, and Marina with the motherly touch who ensures client satisfaction and who has an incredible eye for cosmetic perfection and detail. But beyond these for dentists, who can service the complete full range of dental services and all often work together on one patient, there's also a full staff of dental hygienists, whitening experts, assistants, front desk staff. The place does not cut corners on manpower. And they're fully renovated as of this year, the place is gorgeous and everything is brand new and up to date. I've been very proactive about my oral health since I neglected my teeth during graduate school. They brought me back to full oral health from new crowns to fillings and helped me avoid a near certain root canal. I now come here every 3-4 months for a cleaning, so I don't have to undergo the damage I went through while neglecting to see a dentist for 2 years. I give this place the highest 5 stars I've ever given a service professional, and I cannot emphasize how blessed I've been to have Bensonhurst Dental care, and how much of a vocal fan you will be if you come here for any dental or cosmetic work. To sum it up in 1 sentence: they really care. Thank you to the team for all your hard work. You have one big fan here
