Immediate Load Implants in Brooklyn, NY

Implants that receive a temporary tooth on the day they are placed.

What Are Immediate Load Implants?

Immediate load implants, sometimes referred to as teeth-in-a-day, allow patients to receive dental implants and functional temporary teeth in a single appointment. Traditional implant protocols require a healing period of several months between implant placement and the attachment of a restoration. With immediate loading, the implant is placed and a provisional crown or prosthesis is attached the same day, giving patients the ability to leave the office with a complete, functional smile.

Who Immediate Load Implants Are For

Immediate loading means attaching a temporary tooth to an implant on the day of surgery. It is possible only when the implant is very stable at placement and biting forces can be kept light during healing.

  • A front tooth that must be replaced without a visible gap
  • Dense, healthy bone
  • An implant that reaches high stability at placement
  • No heavy grinding or clenching
  • Full arch cases where implants are splinted together

Immediate Load Implants at Bensonhurst Dental Care

At Bensonhurst Dental Care, immediate load implants are placed by Dr. Geoffrey Rubinshtein, who carefully evaluates each patient’s bone quality and implant stability to determine whether immediate loading is appropriate. Not every case qualifies for this approach. The implant must achieve a high level of primary stability at the time of placement in order to safely support a restoration without compromising the healing process. Dr. Geoffrey’s expertise in both surgical placement and bone assessment ensures that this determination is made accurately and conservatively.

What to Expect, Step by Step

  1. Planning. 3D imaging and a digital plan are prepared in advance.
  2. Placement. The implant is placed and its stability is measured.
  3. Decision. If stability is high enough, a temporary tooth is attached.
  4. Temporary tooth. The temporary is adjusted so it does not take biting force.
  5. Healing. Integration takes three to six months.
  6. Final crown. The permanent crown replaces the temporary.

Immediate loading compared with conventional loading

FeatureImmediate loadConventional load
Temporary toothSame day, fixed to the implantRemovable, or none
Suitable forSelected cases with high implant stabilityNearly all cases
Diet during healingStrictly softSoft at first, then normal away from the site

Immediate does not mean finished. The implant still needs months of undisturbed healing, and the temporary is designed to protect that.

Where Immediate Loading Is Used

Immediate load implants are particularly appealing for patients replacing visible front teeth, where going months without a tooth is not a practical or desirable option. They are also central to full arch same day smile protocols, where an entire arch of teeth is replaced with a fixed provisional restoration on the day of surgery. For patients who do not meet the criteria for immediate loading, a traditional staged approach with a healing period before restoration remains an excellent and proven option.

Cost and Insurance

Implant treatment is priced in stages: the surgery, any grafting that is needed, and the teeth that are attached. You receive a written plan that lists each stage before treatment starts.

What affects the cost

  • The number of implants
  • Whether bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed
  • The type of restoration: a crown, a bridge or a full arch
  • 3D imaging, surgical guides and sedation, where used

Coverage for implants varies widely between plans. Some cover the crown but not the implant, and some have a yearly maximum. Our team can check your benefits and explain your options before treatment begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is immediate loading as reliable as the traditional approach?

When performed on properly selected patients with sufficient bone quality and primary implant stability, immediate loading has excellent success rates comparable to the traditional staged approach. Careful patient selection is the key to ensuring reliable outcomes.

Can any implant be immediately loaded?

No. Immediate loading requires the implant to achieve a specific level of stability in the bone at the time of placement. Factors such as bone density, implant size, and location all influence whether immediate loading is appropriate. Dr. Geoffrey makes this determination during the surgical appointment.

Will I be able to eat normally right away?

Patients receive functional provisional teeth on the day of surgery, but a soft diet is recommended for the first several weeks while the implants begin to integrate with the bone. Once healing is complete and the final restoration is placed, patients can return to eating normally without restriction.

What happens after the provisional teeth are placed?

The provisional restoration is worn during the healing period while the implants integrate with the bone. Once integration is confirmed, typically after three to six months, the provisional is replaced with a final, permanent restoration made from premium materials.

Who is the best candidate for immediate load implants?

Patients with good bone density, healthy gum tissue, and no active infections are the best candidates. Non-smokers and patients without uncontrolled systemic conditions tend to have the most predictable results. Dr. Geoffrey evaluates candidacy on a case-by-case basis.

What Our Patients Say

I had a great experience at Bensonhurst Dental. I got a teeth implant placed yesterday and was really nervous going into it, but Dr. Marina made me feel so comfortable from start to finish. She was extremely professional and didn’t make me feel rushed at all, she really took her time with me which showed how much she genuinely cares. She kept checking in to make sure I was okay, and while numbing me, she constantly asked about my pain level, which really reassured me. Elisa cleaned my teeth and did an amazing job. She was quick, thorough, and very efficient. I also had the rest of my veneers done here about 8–9 years ago, and I keep coming back because they still look perfect . They truly feel like family in this office , and I can’t imagine going to another dental office. Overall, they were both excellent, and I’m very happy with the outcome. I highly recommend them both !

My cousin and I came in for a consultation two days ago and we both left very satisfied. We went to a different doctor before and we weren't much options but implants. Here at Bensonhurst we recieved 3 options which was comfortable for us.Very impressed with the doctors and service here.

This office is clean and incredibly beautiful. The staff was sweet and comforting. I knew I was in great hands as the doctor continued to ask regarding my I input throughout the visit. I highly recommend this place!

The best dentists on the planet. Very knowledgeable and patient with everyone. I had a complex case where I had to get implants redone and they actually had to do some detective work to find out the implants I previously had placed by another dentist. Trust me they had their work cut out for them but they did it! I definitely recommend them for any dental and implant/smile makeover work!
